My 2nd digiscrap layout

I found this old picture of my oldest daughter yesterday, and I just had to scrap it! lol The pic was taken in our backyard at the end of an August day when a family friend who had ridden his bike here from Calgary was visiting. It was taken with a cheap little disposable camera and didn't scan very well (the original pic is really dark), and I had to do a lot of fixin' up in PSP, but I kinda like the distorted look of it with the grungy faded colours of the kit I used. It reminds me of how our memories fade over time.

I used the (free!!!) Fresh Meadows kit by Tamra Burwick (www.happyscrappin.blogspot.com), many thanks Tamra for the wonderful kit!! The stitching is from another kit, but there's no read me file included, so I don't know who did it!! I also used La Figura font.

My First Digiscrap Layout!!

I have been making signature tags in Paint Shop Pro for about a year now, but I recently discovered a new obsession. Digital scrapbooking. Some of the free kits I have found on the various digiscraping sites are phenomenal, I still can't believe these designers are giving them away for free!! It is a really great way to dip your toes into the whole thing, especially for a total scrapbooking newb like me. lol I've been collecting all these amazing kits for over a month now, and have quite a lot of them. I figured it was time to actually use one for what it was intended. So there you have it folks, my first attempt at a digital scrapbooking layout, featuring my beautiful son, Daniel.

I used the (free) Boy oh Boy Kit, created by Valeri Brumfield at digitalscrapbookplace.com. Font I used: First Grader.
